History of the mines and industry of the Aubin-Decazeville area. Reconstruction of a mine gallery.

The museum, inaugurated in 1979 occupies the former assembly room in Aubin.

It presents the history of the mines through miners’ traditional materials and equipment, guild flags and banners, video screening .

A mine gallery was recreated showing scenes of mining life and simulation of a firedamp (methane) explosion

Opening:

April, May and October : Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 2pm to 5:30pm

June and September : every days from 2pm to 6pm (except sunday)

Juily and August : every days from 10am to 12am and from 2pm to 6pm (except monday)
