A little bit of history

In the Middle Ages, Saint-Santin was a barony, with a succession of lords until the French Revolution. The atypical story of Saint-Santin results from a weird decision in 1970 : during an administrative division, the village was divided into two parts : one part in the Cantal « Saint-Santin de Maurs », the other part in the Aveyron « Saint-Santin d’Aveyron »… and since that time, inhabitants risk having double vision seeing two churches, two town halls, two postal services, one memorial but with two sides (Cantal and Aveyron), one soccer field on each territory and last, but not least,  one house divides in two parts by the border !

Today

Today, there are still two Saint-Santin, the Aveyronnais and the Cantalou. The two sides are now proud to present this original story with 2 scenographics spaces : Pierre-Marie’s small theatre and Marie-Pierre’s house which can be visited in the village.
