Exploited from 1832 to 2001, the open-cast coal mine, called the “Découverte”, is now restored.

In this type of mining work, the coal layers show on the surface and can be directly extracted without digging galleries.

Nearby, visitors can see the only pit head frame left in the area, where they will read information about its construction and the miners’ work.

Guided visit by the Tourism Office all the year for group and from March to November for individuals.
